Antiekbeurs 700 – A visit to the past

Antiekbeurs 700 – A visit to the past

Buying new stuff can be fun and that feeling when your new couch, gadget, or whatever you ordered on Amazon arrives, is pretty satisfying. But what if you’re on a budget? Or if you have a specific taste? Or if you like old things? Maybe you just like strolling around and be surprised by what you might find. This place has you covered.

I found it by coincidence and I am so happy I did. It is easy to pass by and you might not find the entrance to it. After stepping inside Antiekbeurs 700, I saw so many things. Different things. From barstools to art and from old record players to African chairs, everything very well organized and clean. While I was walking around, I found a book from 1969 with a picture of several Dutch writers. Among them was Harry Mulish. As I really like reading, I bought this book. For one euro.

But then I found something so cool and nostalgic: marbles (knikkers in Dutch). We used to play with these on the playground at school. So I bought lots of them to bring back home for Christmas so my friends and I could relive that time.

The guy who runs the place is really friendly and helpful as well and he likes having a chat and talking about Amsterdam. If you want to go local and maybe buy a different kind of souvenir, visit this shop.
